Before and after: crochet for cute summer plain tee

Before and after: crochet for cute summer t-shirt

Here’s the t-shirt I’m going to work with. This is for children 3-4 yrs. of age, but luckily it fit her and it cost only one buck! There’s some minor problems like the short (what fit?), but it’s a piece of cake to fix as you will see.

1. Cut off the  5cm strip of knit fabric at bottom of the plain tee.

2. Using red thread to sew borders of the plain tee and the strip of knit fabric with blanket stitch ( the distance between two stitches about 5mm).

3. Crochet with the top part of the plain tee .

Round 1:  ch5, (1dc in the next blanket stitch, ch 2, 1dc in the second blanket stitch), crochet the same (…) until the end of the border, 1 slst in the third chain of the ch-5.

Round 2: ch 5, (1dc in the next ch-2, ch 3, 1dc in the second dc), crochet the same (…) until the end of the border, 1 slst in the third chain of the ch-5 .

Materials:

– Ribbon : Copper strip 40 cm.

– Needle and yarn.

How to Make Fabric Flowers

Step 1: Fold down 2/3 width of the copper strip ( fold  one end of the strip) as picture.

Step 2: Fold up the below part of the strip that the border of the strip parallel and immediately fit with the line fold edge.

Step 3: Sew 2 the fold edge together with tack stitch from bottom end to the end of the strip.

Step 4: After we sew to the end of the strip we have the strip like the picture:

Insert the outside fabric to have a triangle shape and sew tack stitch to finish this step.

Step 5: Make a small bud by just rolling one end a few times. Gently tug on one of the threads and gather your fabric strip. Roll around the bud. Once you have a little bud secure it by going through all thicknesses of your roll. Sew several times at the base of flower to hold in place. We have a flower like that.
